Last month we received and installed our new LPBF machine. After a long wait, the Aconity MIDI+ by Aconity3D GmbH finally arrived at our facilities!
We would like to take you on our journey with this new dual-laser LPBF machine that will be used in combination with Aerosints multimaterial recoating system within the BIOMET4D project, the new €3.5 million European Innovation Council and SMEs Executive Agency (EISMEA) -funded initiative to develop smart 4D biodegradable shape-shifting implants.
In detail, the BIOMET4D project aims at combining different biodegrabdable metals in order to create a new generation of biodegradable, load-bearing implants capable of changing shape for dynamic tissue restoration to provide improved health outcomes.
