About meo.

meo. is a technology company founded in Aachen in 2011, specializing in the development, manufacturing, processing, and marketing of bioabsorbable magnesium and zinc alloys of medical grade. Located within the TRIWO Technopark Aachen, our facilities span approximately 4,000 square meters, enabling us to operate our DIN EN 13485 certified processes and meet the continuously growing demand of our customers.

Inspired by the natural potential of absorbable metals and the emerging market in medical technology, we aim to lead the global adoption of this technology.

Our customers benefit from over 10 years of experience in the development, approval, and manufacturing of medical devices up to the highest risk class. We continuously integrate this knowledge into our portfolio to deliver the best possible solutions to our customers’ problems.

History

2011

Foundation in ZBMT Aachen

Establishment of Meotec GmbH & Co. KG in 2011. The initial premises comprised approximately 160 m².

2016

Moving time

New premises for administration, research, and development totaling approximately 700 square meters.
From originally 2 employees, we have now grown to 12.

2016

DIN EN ISO 13485

Introduction of a quality management system according to DIN EN ISO 13485.

2017

Spin-off: Fibrothelium

During various R&D initiatives, it was decided to establish a new company specializing in soft tissue regeneration. Fibrothelium was founded in May 2017.

2018

Building extension

In the first quarter of 2018, additional premises were acquired for a fully integrated process chain for manufacturing our magnesium alloy and implant systems. A production hall with 1,000 square meters of usable space is being developed. The number of employees has continuously increased.

2018

Spin-off: Medical Magnesium

In April 2018, a joint venture was established between Meotec GmbH & Co. KG and a family-owned company. The aim is to accelerate the development and certification of absorbable magnesium implants: Medical Magnesium GmbH was founded.

2019

Rebranding

Meotec GmbH & Co. KG becomes Meotec GmbH.
The team grows continously to now 20 members.

2020

Building extension

In the first quarter of 2020, a new administrative building will be utilized. All administrative staff will be consolidated on approximately 700 m².

2020

Activation of first cleanroom

To further expand the areas of Contract Manufacturing and Implant Solutions, a clean room is being put into operation during the COVID-19 pandemic.

2021

Restructuring

To strengthen the individual entrepreneurial activities in their collective appearance and to reorganize the shareholder structures, a holding company is being established: elevate.tech GmbH. The number of employees has increased to 24.

2022

Brand & Coporate Identity

To better and uniformly represent the activities of Meotec GmbH externally, the brand “meo.” is being established.

2023

Corporate growth

The areas of Performance Materials and Contract Manufacturing are growing continuously. Today, Meotec has nearly 40 employees.

2025

Expansion Space & Further Growth

Meotec signs a lease contract with TRIWO AG to expand its production space by approximately 1,600 m². This space will include a 300 m² ISO7 cleanroom and a “transparent” production facility, as well as office, conference, and storage space. The total operating space thus grows to approximately 4,000 m². The number of employees has increased to 45.
